What the research on KPV has looked at

• KPV and bowel inflammation: in mice with chemically induced bowel inflammation, the tripeptide given in drinking water damped the inflammatory signaling measured. In cultured human gut and immune cells, amounts measured in billionths of a mole per liter damped two inflammatory signaling routes and lowered the signaling molecules released
• KPV in two mouse models of bowel disease: animals given the tripeptide recovered earlier and regained more body weight, with significantly fewer inflammatory cells in the gut lining and lower levels of an inflammation enzyme in the tissue
• KPV in targeted nanoparticles: packed into nanoparticles aimed at the gut lining and given by mouth, the tripeptide protected the gut lining better and lowered one inflammatory messenger further than the same particles without the targeting coat, in mice with colitis
• KPV and corneal wounds in rabbits: in rabbits whose corneal surface had been scraped away, drops of the tripeptide closed the wound faster. By sixty hours all eight corneas given it had fully resurfaced, and none of the corneas given the dummy drops had
• KPV against microbes: against a common bacterium and a common yeast, the tripeptide reduced growth across a wide span of concentrations, including very low ones. It did not blunt the killing done by human white blood cells and appeared to increase it
