What the research on Selank has looked at

• Selank and slices of rat brain: it raised both the size and the frequency of the calming signals passing between nerve cells in the hippocampus.
• Selank and rats under weeks of mild stress: given alongside a standard anti-anxiety drug, measures of stress-related behavior returned to where they had been before the stress began.
• Selank and rats given the drug courses without stress: on its own it reduced the raised measures of stress-related behavior more than the comparison drug did.
• Selank and memory in rats drinking alcohol: it prevented the memory and attention problems that appeared during alcohol withdrawal.
• Selank and a growth protein in those rats: it stopped the rise in that protein which alcohol otherwise caused in two brain regions.
